Certo is a trademark of Kraft Foods (who owns the entire rights, etc.) and we disclaim any ownership, etc.

It's actually a pectin (definition from Princeton University: "any of various water-soluble colloidal carbohydrates that occur in ripe fruit and vegetables; used in making fruit jellies and jams")

We rarely include trademarks in our recipes, but this is one of the few exceptions. From what we've researched, Certo is available only in the United Kingdom and Canada. In the United States, it's called Sure-Jell. (Sure-Jell is a trademark of Kraft Foods (who owns the entire rights, etc.) and we disclaim any ownership, etc.)

We doubt that the word Certo or Sure-Jell would appear in any other recipe categories other than: Just Canning Recipes.
