Thyme is widely used in cooking as a herb. Because it is a slow release type of a herb, it's generally added early on in the recipe. Used mainly to flavor meats, stews and soups, you'll probably see it used more with lamb, tomatoes and eggs.

It's also a commonly used ingredient in bouquet garni and herbes de Provence.

As it is a herb and generally used as a flavoring, we don't have a specific category for thyme.
